Announcing embodied philosophy's
200 Hour Wisdom training
The 200 Hour Wisdom Training was developed in response to a need we saw in the wider yoga and meditation community for a program dedicated to a rigorous understanding of the philosophies and practices arising out of the Eastern wisdom traditions.
The program is broken down into 4 components:
- Online Education: 100 Hours
- 2 Week-Long Retreats: 60 Hours
- Independent Study: 20 Hours
- Exams & Assignments: 20 Hours
Unless approved by the program's administration, all online education hours must be completed through the online courses available on the Embodied Philosophy website.
More masterclasses and course series will be coming available over the upcoming months.
Completed classes should include 80 credits covering the following topics:
- History of Indian Philosophy
- Yoga Sutras
- Bhagavad Gita
The remaining 20 online credits required are electives and may be on thematic classes that reflect the interest of the trainee.
Two retreats will be offered per year - one urban retreat in New York City and one at an international location. Retreats include a combination of yoga asana, philosophy, meditation, and other practices highlighted by the program.
Emphasis will be placed on conversation and community, cultivating your ability to speak about these subjects with confidence and clarity.
While 20 hours is designated for independent study, we actually encourage participants to study much more than this, engaging with the texts and practices extensively as a way to begin incorporating them into their embodied lives.
EXAMS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Exams and assignments relevant to your studies will be administered periodically. A final written assignment will be necessary in order to complete the program.
"What are the official dates of the program?"
Outside the retreat schedule (which you'll receive after you sign up), there are no official dates for the program.
The 200 Hour Wisdom Training is an at-will program. This means that you can complete it as slowly or as quickly as you would like. For example, if you'd like to get your online education started but you can't yet invest in the retreats, you can complete the online portion first and the retreats at a later time.
"How do I get started with the online classes?"
You can start your program today by watching some of the masterclasses available in our Masterclass Collection (more available soon). Each masterclass is awarded a certain number of EP Credits, depending on the length of the class. The number of credits is listed on each class.
"How much does the program cost?"
How much the program costs will depend on whether or not you choose to access one masterclass at a time or if you opt to purchase them together as a package (for example: the Sutras/Gita package and the Buddhism package). Purchasing the masterclasses as a series will make the program more affordable.
The NYC and international retreats have set prices (more information in your program package).
"How do I sign up?"
You can officially sign up for the training by filling out the form below. Please include a brief summary in the message field of why you'd like to participate in this training.
